District Coordinator - Riley Brown
The York Soil and Water Conservation District hosts its District Coordinator, Riley Brown, who has a passion for sustainable land management and environmental education. District employees serve as the initial contact between the general public, federal, state, and local programs and activities, as well as serving the district as the primary administrator.
The conservation district is comprised of a five member board, 3 members are voted in countywide and 2 are appointed by SCDNR, with staggered four-year terms. These members serve as conservation district commissioners in each of the state's forty-six soil and water conservation districts. In South Carolina, conservation district boundaries are the same as county lines.
